England chose to bat first and started aggressively, but India's bowling and fielding efforts helped contain the opposition. Rana finished with figures of 3for 53 while Jadeja claimed 3 for 26.

Buttler scored 52, Bethell made 51, and Phil Salt contributed 43 runs for England.

Rana's ODI debut began with a challenging first over as Salt unleashed an assault, scoring 26 runs with three sixes and two fours. This prompted captain Rohit Sharma to introduce spinner Axar Patel, who ended with figures of 1 for 38.

Ben Duckett kept the momentum going with 32 runs, including a reverse sweep, as England maintained their attacking approach.

The game shifted when Shreyas Iyer's direct throw to wicketkeeper KL Rahul ran out the aggressive Salt following a communication breakdown between the openers.

Despite conceding 26 runs in his first over, Rana's fourth over proved decisive as he claimed two wickets that changed the match's direction.

The first wicket came through a spectacular catch by fellow debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal, who ran back 21 meters at midwicket to dismiss Duckett with a diving effort.

Rana struck again two balls later when Harry Brook edged to Rahul, leaving England in trouble and forcing Joe Root and Buttler to rebuild the innings.

Jadeja then dismissed Root leg-before-wicket, further damaging England's prospects.

Buttler played a measured innings, reaching his fifty with four boundaries. However, his stay ended when he top-edged Axar's delivery to Hardik at short fine leg.

Young Bethell showed resilience with a fifty that included one six and three fours, but eventually fell LBW to Jadeja.
