What causes lunar eclipse?

A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves directly between the Sun and the Moon, blocking sunlight from reaching it. The Moon looks red because Earth’s atmosphere scatters blue light and bend red light toward the Moon. This is the same effect that makes sunsets appear red and orange. (Image: File photo)

Why is it called 'Blood Moon'?

The striking reddish or coppery color is what has earned this phenomenon the dramatic name “Blood Moon.” Its glow is often seen as a symbol of mystery and transformation. (Image: File photo)
