Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 7: Chaitra Navratri is the period when all the devotees worship nine different forms of Maa Durga during nine days. These nine days are considered to be auspicious and all the religious and spiritual activities are done during this period. Now we are heading towards the 7th Navratri, which is dedicated to Goddess Kaalratri. This day occurs on the Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra i.e.,

Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 7: SignificanceAs it is described by the name Kaalratri - the one who is kaal which means death and Ratri means the night so it is said that she works against the darkness and she is the fiercest form of Goddess Durga. She is known to be a destroyer of demons, negative powers and evil spirits. The one who offer prayers to the Goddess Kaalratri, gets blessed with wish fulfilments.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 7: StoryAccording to the Hindu Scriptures, Kaalratri form of Maa Durga killed the demons named Shumbh Nishumbh. Once they tried to destroy the abode of deities and all the deities went to the Goddess to sought help. After listening to them, Goddess appeared in her Kaali roop then she attacked chand mund who were the assistant of Shubh Nishumbh and killed them then another demon came to take the revenge and his name was Raktabeej. Goddess Chamunda killed him too and then at last after a long battle she killed Shumbh Nishumbh.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 7: Colour and RemedyIt is believed that who are struggling with the enemies, they must offer grey colour clothes to the Goddess to get rid of the enemies and chant "Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundaye Vicchaye" 108 times.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 7: Who is Maa Kaalratri?Maa Kaalratri, one of the form of Goddess Durga. She has a darker complexion, open hair and the one who wears the garland of Narmund. She has a gigantic structure having four hands. She is full of power, energy and fire. Flames appear from her nostrils when she inhales and exhales. She is a very dangerous form of Maa Durga but she works against demons.
Some devotees, who are into spiritual activities such as sadhna and yog and tantra kriya, they worship Goddess Kaalratri during the night to get siddhis, supernatural power and she represents crown chakra (Sahasra Chakra). She also lead planet Saturn so people, who have problem in their horoscope regarding Shani, they are advised to offer prayers to Goddess Kaalratri to get rid of their problems.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 Day 7: Puja Rituals1. Devotees wake up early in the morning and take a holy bathe
2. They light a diya with desi ghee, put kumkum, offer flowers and garland, fruits and homemade sweets.
3. Recite Durga Saptashati Path and those who are unable to do path, they chant Durga Chalisa and 108 names of Goddess Durga.
4. Some devotees even organise hawan at home.
5. Devotees observe fast till evening and break the fast by having satvik meal/fruits and milk products.
