The Indian rifle shooters' preparation for the Olympics suffered a mild setback when coach Stanislav Lapidus was admitted to a hospital.
LONDON: The Indian rifle shooters' preparation for the Olympics suffered a mild setback when coach Stanislav Lapidus was admitted to a hospital in London.
Lapidus, who checked into the Games Village along with the contingent, was hospitalized following high fever. "He was admitted to the hospital due to high fever on July 25.
His condition has slightly improved now and he may be discharged today," national shooting coach Sunny Thomas said from London.

On Monday, the men's rifle shooters get into action beginning with the 10m air rifle event.
Indian hopes in the event rests on Abhinav Bindra, who won India's first individual gold in Beijing, and former world record holder Gagan Narang.
Both Bindra and Narang goes into the competition high on confidence. While Narang was training in Hannover for the last few weeks, Bindra landed in London from Germany where he was training with his coach Gabby Buehlmann. The preliminary round will start at 1.30 pm (IST) with the final slated for 4.45 pm.
