Noida–Dehradun electric bus service flagged off; find all key details here

Travel from Noida to Dehradun is all set to become easier and hassle-free soon. As per the latest news reports, e-bus services will start on the said route. State Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh inaugurated a new electric bus service between Noida and Dehradun recently. The launch marks the first electric intercity connection on this route.

Commuters have welcomed the move as a step toward eco-friendly and convenient travel. It needs to be noted e-buses produce zero emissions, posing no environmental hazard. Noida’s Assistant Regional Transport Officer Siyaram Verma highlighted the state government’s push for electric mobility, offering subsidies of INR 5,000 for electric two-wheelers, up to INR 1 lakh for fully electric cars, and INR 20 lakh for private electric buses.

Route, features, and fare

Reports add that four 40-seater e-buses were flagged off, which will be operated by the private firm Ezy Go Bus. The buses will run from Pari Chowk in Greater Noida to Dehradun via Haridwar, covering a 300 km distance in approximately five hours. The buses are air-conditioned, and fares are set between INR 400 and INR 500. Reportedly, the service will start with four buses, with plans to expand depending on ridership. The buses will operate during morning and evening hours and can be booked via the company’s website or online. There are also plans to introduce electric buses on the Noida–Agra route.

Noida currently has 11.26 lakh registered vehicles, including 39,000 electric ones. Among these, 24,000 are e-rickshaws, reflecting the city’s growing adoption of electric mobility.

The electric bus launch coincided with the UP International Trade Show, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, which will continue until September 29. The Transport Department has also set up a stall showcasing several electric vehicles, emphasising the state’s commitment to promoting sustainable transportation solutions.
