World’s Happiest Kids Live in These 10 Countries

Today, along with physical health, mental health also plays a very important role. The growing competition within the education sector has been impacting the kids greatly; they have been facing tremendous pressure to work harder and get better marks, but some countries focus more on the well-being of the child than on better scores, which is a must nowadays.
According to the UNICEF Office of Research Innocenti, Report Card we are going to see the top 10 countries with the happiest kids.

Netherlands took the top position in the list of child well-being, and according to the list, one can say that it creates a perfect balance between mental health, physical health, and essential life skills of a child. The government of the Netherlands focuses greatly on the mental health of the child by giving more emphasis on family time, open communication, and less pressure on children to perform better.

Denmark came in the second position in the list. It is in the top 5 of both the criteria in mental health and physical health, which indicates high satisfaction among children and also low obesity rates. The government of Denmark greatly balances all the three criteria to keep its children happy.

France was in the third position in the list of child well-being with good access to nutritious food, as it is ranked second in the physical health criteria and also provides support in the aspect of mental health. The education system is designed in a way that they learn good social and emotional skills.

Portugal ranked in the fourth position of the list overall and also came after the Netherlands in the second rank in the criteria of mental health. The government provides a positive environment for a child’s development and has a holistic approach with all aspects being considered for them to thrive.

Ireland was in the fifth position in the list of child well-being. The report suggests that the children in Ireland have been performing great academically but struggling in life, as the country was placed low in the mental health criteria of the children.

This country was ranked in the sixth position in the list. Kids here have strong physical health and also are performing well in the education sector, with a balance between the social and emotional competencies, but it was ranked low in the mental health criteria of the list.

Spain took the seventh position on the list with a high mental health rate, and the children living in Spain have been performing well in the education aspect, but concerns have risen about their physical health, as the health rate was low in the rankings.

Croatia is also one of the top 10 countries that made it to the well-being list of kids by UNICEF. Croatia was in the top three in the criteria of skills development for children. They have a holistic approach to social and emotional competencies in the education sector, with good mental health being reported among the kids, but their physical health ranking is low compared to the other countries.

Italy also made it to the top 10 list of countries with the happiest kids, and the children showed great life satisfaction here, and the suicide rates were also very low. Italy showed improvement in the physical health aspect compared to earlier, and the reports suggest that they need to change their approach in the skills aspect, as it had low rankings in the academic proficiency and social skills of kids.

Sweden has a consistent ranking in all the criteria and has a strong social support system and policies that contribute to the overall well-being of the child. Sweden is considered to have a great support system for families and children, including generous leaves for parents, affordable healthcare, and high-quality education for the children.
