It applies to all those travelling from a country in the US Visa Waiver Program. They won't need a visa, but will require an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization), which is essentially a background check with a price tag. Applies to: 60+ visa-free nationalities

As per the latest development, the EU will be rolling out the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), which will be a pre-travel screening for citizens who previously entered the Schengen zone visa-free. It’s not a visa, but it does involve an online application, biometric data, and a fee. Think of it as Europe’s version of the ESTA—just in more languages. Yes, Sri Lanka offers visa-on-arrival and offers visa-free access to citizens of a handful of countries. But they still need to fill out an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before arrival.
