Several individuals particularly come here for meditation as one is believed to be blessed with liberation here. Rishikesh is the best blend of modern and traditional practices which is followed by both ascetics and global spiritual seekers. You should go to the renowned Triveni Ghat here, which is also the largest and is renowned for bathing and the Maha aarti. It is the perfect destination for anyone looking for peace, spiritual experience, and nature.

4/6

Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

It is also referred to as Benares or Kashi and is situated on the Ganga River banks and is also one of the oldest populated cities in the world. This spot is home to various ghats like Dashashwamedh and Manikarnika where every day aartis are conducted, particularly the dusk Ganga aarti. It also houses the iconic Kashi Vishwanath temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is among the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas and is a huge pilgrimage destination as well. One can truly immerse oneself in the history of the city through spiritual tradition spanning thousands of years.

5/6

The Sai Baba temple in Shirdi is the residence of Sai Baba who resided here during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Sai Baba is renowned both among Hindus and Muslims for his preachings of love, compassion, selflessness, and inter-religious harmony. One must certainly pay a visit to the legendary temple complex here which shelters the marble statue of Sai Baba with garlands and a golden crown. This is one of India's key pilgrimage centers which draws thousands of tourists.

6/6

Bodh Gaya, Bihar

This is in Bihar and is the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site. Siddhartha Gautama, or Buddha as he came to be known, achieved enlightenment below a Bodhi tree at this site.
