Delhi to detox: 7 chill getaways under 6 hours (no treks required)

Delhi is loud. Delhi is fast. And sometimes, Delhi is just too much. If you’ve ever wanted to hit pause, throw your phone in airplane mode, and escape the city chaos without lacing up hiking boots or scaling a Himalayan cliff, we’ve got you covered. Here are 7 super chill getaways from Delhi—each under six hours away, all 100% trek-free, and ideal for doing absolutely nothing (in style).

2/8

Neemrana: 2.5 hours

What if you could spend a weekend in a 15th-century fort and never leave your poolside lounge chair? Neemrana Fort Palace is your answer. Sip wine, soak in panoramic views, and pretend you’re royalty. Bonus: no cardio required unless you count climbing the stairs to the buffet.

3/8

Dausa: 5 hours

Ditch the tents and try Rajasthani-style glamping in a heritage castle. Picture candlelit courtyards, jeep safaris (where the driver does all the work), and cozy nooks to read that book you’ve been ignoring for months. Trekking? Nah. Turban, please.

4/8

Morni Hills: 4.5 hours

Less famous than Shimla, more peaceful than Manali, Morni Hills in Haryana is your off-the-radar retreat. Sit by the lake, munch on pakoras, and do nothing. It’s the kind of place where even the hills seem too lazy to rise steeply.

5/8

Alwar: 4.5 hours

Alwar hits the sweet spot between nature and nawabi vibes. Stay at a haveli, take a safari in Sariska (again, from the comfort of a jeep), and indulge in the local milk cake. Walking is optional. Snacking is mandatory.

6/8

Chandigarh: 5 hours

The city of Le Corbusier is strangely therapeutic. Everything is in its place, traffic is polite, and Sector 17 still has that 90s mall nostalgia. Stroll slowly through Rock Garden or sip coffee by Sukhna Lake—this is the detox Delhi didn’t know it needed.

7/8

Bharatpur: 3 hours

Keoladeo National Park is heaven for bird nerds and lazy naturalists alike. Rent a cycle rickshaw, let someone else do the pedaling, and spot hundreds of migratory birds—all without breaking a sweat. Binoculars over trekking boots? Yes, please.

8/8

Garhmukteshwar: 2 hours

Skip Haridwar’s crowds and head to this quieter Ganga-side town for spiritual calm (and great selfies). The ghats are peaceful, the vibes are mellow, and you can even book a riverside cottage. Morning aarti + evening chai = bliss.
Not every escape needs an itinerary full of treks and trails. Sometimes, the soul just needs a shady tree, a cold drink, and the “no notifications” vibe. So pack your chillest playlist, wear your loosest clothes, and get out of Delhi—for just a little while.
