Udaipur, the "City of Lakes," is where shimmering waters meet royal architecture and rich history.One of the most romantic sites to visit, the serene lake water, majestic hills, and narrow winding streets are what make Udaipur travel-worthy. Though it is also famous for its historical sites, the city of Udaipur is equally renowned for its vibrant culture, clean water, and places of historical significance. Rajasmand Lake

Rajsamand Lake is a man-made lake situated near Rajsamand town, some 66 km from Udaipur, Rajasthan. In the 17th century, it was constructed by Maharana Raj Singh as an irrigation and drinking water supply lake. It stretches over an area of 16 square kilometers and is among the largest in Rajasthan. Lying amidst pretty marble temples and ghats, it is a peaceful place to take a boating trip. The lake also sports an enormous marble dam and some magnificent views over the surrounding hills.

Udai Sagar lake

Udai Sagar Lake is a man-made lake situated approximately 13 km east of Udaipur, Rajasthan. It was constructed in 1565 by Maharana Udai Singh for supplying water to the area. The lake is 4 km long and 2.5 km wide, with a maximum depth of 9 meters. It has hills surrounding it and provides a serene atmosphere and a vital source of water for the city. Udai Sagar Lake is also a boating and sightseeing spot.

Swaroop sagar lake

Kumharia Talab, a synonym for Swaroop Sagar Lake, is an artificial freshwater lake in the neighborhood of Udaipur, Rajasthan. Constructed between 1842 and 1861 by Maharana Swaroop Singh, it regulates the level of water between Fateh Sagar Lake and Lake Pichola. A four-gate dam regulates water overflow in the lake, creating a beautiful picture during the monsoon season.

Lake Pichola

Lake Pichola is one of the most famous and picturesque lakes in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Mansions, temples, and ghats adorn this 14th-century building. The lake is famous for its peaceful waters and beautiful islands, like the Lake Palace and Jag Mandir. Boat cruises with city and palace views are available to tourists. One of the major tourist attractions of Udaipur is Lake Pichola, which is even more fascinating at dusk.

Dudh Talai Lake

Located adjacent to the famous Lake Pichola in Udaipur, Rajasthan, is the peaceful and picturesque Dudh Talai Lake. Due to the white foam that often develops on the surface of the water and appears like milk, the lake is also referred to as the "dudh" (milk). Dudh Talai is famous for its scenic environment, which comprises an abundance of vegetation, panoramic city views, and the nearby ancient Mansapurna Karni Mata Temple located on a hill. The lake is a serene retreat and a popular boating spot. The charm of the place is further complemented by the Dudh Talai Musical Garden and its captivating fountain.

Fateh Sagar Lake

Maharana Jai Singh built the man-made lake called Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in 1678. It is a popular tourist spot and one of the key lakes of the city. One of the three islands in the lake is Nehru Park, which is famous for the zoo and the gardens. Boating facilities are provided to the tourists, and scenic hills surround the lake. October through February is the best time to visit because of the pleasant weather.

Jaisamand Lake

Popularly known as Dhebar Lake, it’s India’s second-largest artificial lake, built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1685. Adorned with six intricately carved marble cenotaphs, this lake is surrounded by three islands, one of which is currently inhabited by the Bhil Minas tribe. Book a room at the Jaisamand Island Resort on a private 40-acre island in the lake for a special experience. The resort, accessible only by boat, has luxurious accommodations and stunning views of the lake.
