5 ‘Visa Temples’ to visit in India for a divine blessing on your travel plans

There’s no denying that these days acquiring a visa has become a luxury! Especially if you are planning to travel to a Schenegen country or the US. For hundreds of Indians aspiring to travel abroad, the visa application process can be stressful and uncertain.
So amidst all the paperwork and interview sessions, some turn to ‘Almighty’ for that extra luck. Across India, there are several temples known as “visa temples,” where travellers seek divine blessings to fulfill their dream. These temples have earned a reputation for their miraculous success stories.
Here are five famous visa temples in India that have become pilgrimage spots for globetrotters.

2/6

Chilkur Balaji Temple, Hyderabad (Telangana)

Also known as “Visa Balaji Temple,” Chilkur Balaji near Hyderabad is among the most popular visa temples in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and witnesses thousands of devotees—especially students and professionals—praying for U.S. visas. The tradition involves taking 11 circumambulations around the sanctum when making a wish and 108 rounds when the wish is fulfilled.

Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Gurudwara, Jalandhar (Punjab)

Another Visa temple in India is Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Gurudwara near Talhan village. It is known as the “Visa Gurudwara” and devotees, especially from Punjab—a region with a high aspiration for foreign travel—offer miniature airplane models at the shrine, symbolising their prayer to go abroad. It is believed that many have received visa approvals shortly after visiting and praying here.

4/6

Prati Balaji Temple, Pune (Maharashtra)

A replica of the Tirupati Balaji Temple, this temple in Ketkawale near Pune is a popular spot for people praying for career and travel success. Over the years, it has also been regarded as a place to seek visa blessings, especially among IT professionals and students in the Pune region.

5/6

Kalikambal Temple, Chennai (Tamil Nadu)

Located in the bustling city of Chennai, the Kalikambal Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kalikambal, an incarnation of Durga. While not traditionally a visa temple, it has gained popularity in recent years among visa seekers. Many believe that worshipping the goddess removes obstacles and ensures success in endeavors like studying or working abroad.

6/6

Hanuman Temple, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh)

Although primarily known for blessing devotees with relief from troubles, the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple in Varanasi has become a sought-after destination for those praying for visa approvals. Lord Hanuman is believed to remove obstacles from one’s path, including bureaucratic and visa-related hurdles.
