6 countries with the lowest tourist visa fees in 2025

For budget-conscious travellers, a visa fee can sometimes be the deciding factor between dream and reality. While many nations have eased entry requirements or gone visa-free for certain passport holders (32 countries offer visa-free entry to Indians in 2025), there’s still a large number of destinations that require a tourist visa, and yet, keep their fees surprisingly low. In 2025, several countries across Asia and Africa continue to welcome visitors with simple processes and affordable entry costs, making travel more accessible to everyone.

2/7

Nepal

The cost remains remarkably low: about USD 30 (INR 2700) for a 15-day tourist visa, USD 50 (approx INR 4500) for 30 days, and USD 125 (approx INR 11,000) for 90 days. This affordability, coupled with the ease of extensions, makes Nepal one of the most budget-friendly gateways to the Himalayas. The country’s low visa cost is a welcome advantage for adventure-seekers and spiritual wanderers alike.

3/7

Cambodia

Cambodia, with its e-visa and visa-on-arrival options continue to be some of the cheapest in Southeast Asia. A 30-day tourist visa costs just USD 30 (approx 2700), while the Ordinary (E-type) visa is priced at USD 35 (approx INR 3100). In 2025, these reduced fees have helped attract more visitors eager to explore Angkor Wat’s ancient temples, Phnom Penh’s history, or the coastal charm of Kampot and Kep.

4/7

India

Through its e-Tourist Visa system, India provides short-term entry options at very low fees. In India, the fee differs with the different tourist seasons. The e-tourist visa fees for India are: USD 10 (approx INR 900) for a 30-day visa (April–June), USD 25 (approx INR 2200) for a 30-day visa (July–March), USD 40 (approx INR 3600) for a one-year visa, and USD 80 (approx INR 7100) for a five-year visa. The simplicity of the digital process, combined with one of the world’s most diverse tourism landscapes, makes India a cost-effective and culturally rich destination.

5/7

Jordan

Jordan has kept its tourist visa rates reasonable, charging around 40 Jordanian dinars, or roughly USD 56 (approx INR 5000) for a 30-day single-entry visa. While not free, this cost is far lower than in many neighbouring countries. For travellers eager to visit Petra, the Dead Sea, or the Wadi Rum desert, Jordan’s entry fee is well worth the price, especially since options like the Jordan Pass often waive visa costs when combined with site entry tickets. Jordan is definitely worth your time.

6/7

Tanzania

Tanzania’s tourist visa costs around approximately USD 50 (INR 4500) and allows a stay of up to 90 days. For travellers heading on a safari in the Serengeti, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, or relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar, the visa cost feels minimal compared to the experiences it unlocks.

7/7

Uganda

Uganda also maintains a visa fee of around USD 50 (INR 4500) for a 90-day stay. Uganda is known for its mountain gorillas, national parks, and as the source of the Nile. To see the star attraction, the mountain gorillas, visitors must visit the national parks. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the most popular national parks in the country, and probably the best place to see the amazing mountain gorillas in the wild.
