Bling it up in 24K couture

Maharashtra businessman Pankaj Parakh's gold shirt earned him an entry into the Guinness World Records (for the 'most expensive gold shirt in the world') and the moniker ‘The Man With The Golden Shirt’ in 2013. The shirt weighed 4.10 kg and was priced at an estimated Rs 13 million. In 2016, Turkish jeweller Ahmet Atakan created a dress using 78,000 pieces of gold, priced at $140,000 (Rs 1.04 crore, approx). Weighing 3 kg, the almost-see through dress - despite being mocked by netizens - was an instant sell-out. Similarly, a 22K gold dress, made by a Turkish jewelle, with 400 pieces of the precious metal, was also the talk of the internet. Then there's the ‘woven gold wedding dress,’ teamed up with a golden tiara, created by Japanese designers Tanaka and Yumi Katsura, and priced at $900,000 (Rs 6.68 crore).

Gold desserts for the ultimate decadence

The $25,000 (Rs 18.56 lakh, approx) Frrrozen Haute Chocolate, topped with 24K gold, and displayed at a restaurant in New York City, was declared to be the most expensive dessert in the world by Guinness World Records in 2010, stealing the spot from the Golden Opulence Sundae, another 24K dessert. The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate, served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet with an 18 karat gold and white diamond bracelet attached to the neck, is laced with 23 karat edible gold. Meanwhile, the 'world's most expensive chocolate bar' - the Wispa Gold Bar - worth $1,600 (Rs 1.18 lakh) is on display at the Cadbury World chocolate-themed museum and is still one of the most searched photos on the net.

For 24K vision

Indian optometrist Chandrashekhar Chawan’s gold and diamond contact lenses, inspired by his wife’s jewel-encrusted teeth, were much-talked about online in 2016. At $15,000 (`11 lakh, approx), the lenses have 18 diamonds in them, with each pair weighing 5 grams in total, and could add a literal gold gleam to your eye.

Add some sheen to your strut with gold high heels

A picture of pure gold, diamond-studded high heels, displayed at a store in Shenyang, China, went viral in 2016. Priced at $41,000 (Rs 30.43 lakh, approx), they were crafted by three stylists and five artificers. For those who like their shoes flat, there's the all-gold Air Jordan 11s, that became an internet sensation, after they were on display at Jordan Brand's 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend pop-up event in New Orleans.

Go for pure gold pleasure

Taking kink to a whole new level is this 18K vibrator, with white gold and diamond embellishments. Pictures of the $25,000 (Rs 18.56 lakh, approx) ‘toy’ surfaced on social media a few years ago. What's surprising is that it isn't the only one of its kind. Actress and lifestyle moghul Gwyneth Paltrow too endorsed a $15,000 24-carat gold-plated vibrator (Rs 11.14 lakh, approx) on her site, the makers of which rightly said, "You can't put a price on pleasure!"

Pumping iron is passe, lift gold instead!

Touted to be the world's most expensive dumbbells - the two pure gold dumbbells, weighing 1 kg and 3 kg - were sold for $21,500 (Rs 16 lakh, approx) and $64,500 (Rs 48 lakh, approx) in 2006.

Make waves in an 18K bikini

This 18K no-thread bikini by a French designer - priced at $19,400 (Rs 14.40 lakh, approx) - is a cross between blingy and bonkers. The ‘garment’ raised many eyebrows when it was exhibited at a store in China, as it revealed more than it covered, but the look was later aped by celebs on the red carpet.

Gold toilet paper for a dazzling dump

A toilet paper roll, made from 22 karat gold, priced at Rs 8.2 crore and sold with a free bottle of champagne, became the 'butt' of jokes on social media. After all, who would want to flush away that kind of money? The Australian company, Toiler Paper Man, that created the roll, 'cheekily' stated, "As you use the toilet paper, 22-carat gold flakes will fall onto the floor and your behind taking you to another level of sophistication".
