Princess Diana's thoughts on her wedding day
Princess Diana's relationship with the British Royal Family has remained under speculation, since the time she was first associated with Prince Charles. Her wedding day was what connected the two strings together. However, years later, Princess Diana reportedly opened up about her thoughts on her wedding day and said, "The day I walked down the aisle at St. Paul's Cathedral, I felt that my personality was taken away from me, and I was taken over by the royal machine."

Reminiscing her 19 year old self
In an interview with Martin Bashir, a British journalist, Princess Diana had once said, "At the age of 19, you always think you're prepared for everything, and you think you have the knowledge of what's coming ahead. But although I was daunted at the prospect at the time, I felt I had the support of my husband-to-be." This was Lady Diana reminiscing her young past that was unaware of what the future held for her.

On what was expected of her as a royal
It is only evident that Princess Diana had a very complicated relationship with her spouse's family. There were a series of rules and protocols that she adhered to during the initial days of her royal life. However, over time she learnt to defy them and followed her heart. On being asked the same, she has once said in an interview, "I felt compelled to perform. Well, when I say perform, I was compelled to go out and do my engagements and not let people down and support them and love them."

When she spoke of her husband's affair
The complicated relationship between Princess Diana and Prince Charles was known by many, but when it was disclosed on a public platform for the first time, it tore people's hearts. In her interview with Martin Bashir, she once explained and opened up about her husband's affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. She said, "Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded."

Although the secret affairs and the pressures of the royal family took a heavy toll on Princess Diana, she finally came to peace and with great pride, she once told an interviewer, “People think that, at the end of the day, a man is the only answer. Actually, a fulfilling job is better for me.”

She also opened up about her mental health problems
Making it absolutely clear in one of her interviews, Princess Diana opened up about her mental health problems and also talked about feeling isolated. She said, "And so it was, it was isolating, but it was also a situation where you couldn't indulge in feeling sorry for yourself: you had to either sink or swim. And you had to learn that very fast."
