Spiritual journeys

Spirituality and attaining spiritual peace and calm is not a straight road that promises to help you reach your destination in ‘X’ years, neither does it affirm that there is a destination after all. It is just a path you decide to walk on one day, battling insecurities, distractions, procrastinating elements, and much more. And when you feel you are closer to your ultimate goal, something pulls you back a few steps behind, leaving you wondering if you will ever be as enlightened as the Guru you saw.
But, even on this tricky road, there are subtle signs to show that you are closer to your spiritual journey than you think, and here we mention some of them.

2/9

You feel guided by energies

This one sign is extremely personal and can differ among people. Some will feel like the Universe is asking them to be more active with the energies, others might feel like their meditations and chants have a certain vibration that is pulling them closer and they feel more inclined and willing to do it. Eventually, you start trusting the flow of life and accept and face things as they come and happen.

3/9

You feel calmer in general

When a growing sense of calm and peace washes over you, it is a subtle sign that you are closer to your spiritual pursuits than you thought. Topics, discussions, and conversations that once troubled you and triggered you, do not have the same control over you, and they don’t make you aggressive anymore. You just accept that some people will never change, and some discussions can never end, so you remove yourself from those situations and move ahead in life.

4/9

Life has become less distracting

Another subtle sign of moving ahead in your spiritual path is that distractions slowly fade away from your life. Things that once took away your attention, like excess social media, gossip, worries, and more, now seem unimportant to you. And so, instead of being sucked into the web of distractions, you do things that make you genuinely happy, and do them with all your focus.

5/9

An innate pull towards minimalism

When people are on a spiritual path, they slowly learn to detach themselves from the materials and excesses of the world. And with time they are drawn towards simplicity, minimalism, mindfulness, and slow living. And this is exactly what happens when you are close to your spiritual goals. There is a force that pushes you towards simplicity and minimalism, and you learn to live and appreciate the slow life.

6/9

You let go of grudges

‘What do grudges do?’ is a question you often ask yourself. But the true meaning of this question, its answer, and the will to let go of the grudges only come to you when you are on the right path.
A subtle sign of your progress in your spiritual journey is that you have learnt to forgive and forget, and not hold grudges anymore for they do no good.

7/9

Your meditations are pure and focused

When you start your spiritual journey, meditating without distractions is like a task. But, when you progress, it is less of a task, and more like a natural part of your routine. Meditating, sitting in quiet, chanting, and the like are everyday activities, just as common as brushing, eating, and sleeping.
And when you are ahead in your spiritual path, you slip into the meditative state easily, with no distractions clouding your mind.

8/9

You feel more connected to nature

When you are on the right path toward spirituality, being in nature feels perfect. Being away from the attention, the constant noises, the songs from viral videos, and whatnot feels like perfect bliss. You feel an inclination towards hugging the trees, walking barefoot on the grass, playing with the neighbourhood dogs, and listening to the chirping birds.

9/9

Bonus point: You see positive signs

Another subtle sign is that you start noticing strange coincidences and events that seem too unlikely to be mere chance. You see repeating numbers, run into old friends in unexpected places, or stumble upon books that exactly match your current needs and interests.
