Gods for the days

For Hindus around the world, each day of the week is dedicated to a particular deity. On Mondays, they worship Lord Shiva, on Thursdays they keep a fast for Lord Vishnu, and on Sundays they wake up early to offer water to Lord Surya. And similarly, through the week, there are different mantras, tales, and scriptures read for the different Gods.
And if you too wish to walk on the religious path and pray according to how most ancestors did, here we mention the 7 Gods who are worshipped 7 days of the week.

Monday

Almost everyone knows that Mondays are dedicated to Lord Shiva. The God of destruction and transformation, Lord Shiva is worshipped every Monday without fail, and people offer water on Shivlings, do rituals and Abhishekam, and chant mantras dedicated to him.
Lord Shiva is known as the God who blesses people with good health, mental stability, and freedom from negative thoughts, and thus people worship him for stability in life, for good character, and for peace of mind.

Tuesday

Tuesday, or Mangalvar, is dedicated to two Gods - Lord Hanuman and Maa Durga. And while the worship of Lord Hanuman on a Tuesday is more famous, in some regions, Maa Durga is worshipped.
Lord Hanuman is the greatest devotee of Lord Ram and is the symbol of devotion, power, and selfless nature. And it is said that worshiping Lord Hanuman on Tuesday can help remove fears, obstacles, and negative energies from life.
And for Maa Durga, people worship the fierce and caring nature of the Goddess, and it is believed that people who worship Maa Durga wholeheartedly are blessed with courage, wisdom, and love.

Wednesday

One Wednesday, Hindus worship the ‘vighnaharta’, or the remover of obstacles, Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is the God of wisdom and intellect, and the one who is always worshipped first when something new is started or when something positive is taking place. People worship Lord Ganesha to remove hurdles from theri life, their business, their love and relationships, and much more, and also to excel in education, creativity, and more.
Lord Ganesha is offered modaks, yellow flowers, and simple foods when a wish is fulfilled.

Thursday

Thursday, or Guruvar, is the day of Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. He is the God of harmony, stability, and spiritual growth, and Lord Vishnu is worshiped in the form of Lord Krishna as well. People chant the Vishnu Sahasranama, the mantras for Lord Krishna, and even wear yellow to appease the Gods.

Friday

On Friday, people worship Maa Santoshi, the Goddess who IS believed to be the daughter of Lord Ganesha. She is believed to be the goddess of satisfaction and happiness, and when people give up on Tamsic foods and sour things on the day, Maa Santoshi blesses them infinitely.
Many people worship her for prosperity, peace, and fulfillment of their desires, and so devotees believe that fasting on Fridays will bring peace and cordial relations in the family. People offer Gud and Chana to Maa Santoshi in the form of Prasad.

Saturday

Saturday is known as Shanivar, or the day of Lord Shani. And as Lord Shani is the God of karma and justice, he can only be appeased with the right conduct in life and staying true to oneself. It is said that Lord Shani can bring hardships in people’s lives, but even the hardships shape people and teach them lessons for life.
Lord Shani is worshipped to reduce bad karma, avoid misfortunes in life, and remain stable on the inside out.

Sunday

Sunday is dedicated to Lord Surya, or the Sun God. Surya dev is believed to bring in good health, energy, and power in people’s lives, and it is said that offering Jal (water) to Surya Dev everyday helps bring discipline in life and authority over self.
Lord Surya is considered to be the ultimate source of all life and energy, and thus he is worshipped with water, flowers, and mantras.
