Elon Musk has made headlines once again for initiating various terminations and layoffs at the micro-blogging company. Reportedly, around 50 top executives and managers have been fired earlier this year, even after Musk had announced that there will be no more terminations in the company.
A recent report by iNews revealed that Musk fired top-level executives by not even giving them the slightest hint!
Musk resorted to a trick of getting rid of highly paid employees. Earlier this year, Musk had asked some of the top-level executives in Twitter to nominate the best members of their team so that they can be promoted. When he was given the list, Musk went on to fire those managers and replaced them with the people who were recommended by them.
Why did Musk fire the managers?Musk’s explanation for firing those employees was that they were drawing very high-end salaries. The ones who replaced them were drawing less salaries. The newly promoted employees were promoted without a change in their salary structure. He did this with all the 50 employees and this even included Esther Crawford, who was the Chief Executive of Twitter Payments and was also a big supporter of Musk.
The employees have been facing a tough time at Twitter since Musk joined. After taking over the company, he made some major changes in the company by laying off masses of employees.
