6 powerful life lessons that are game changers (bookmark them!)

Sometimes we flip through pages of different self-help books, hoping they’ll prepare us to face life. While they may provide a blueprint, they cannot hold your hand and guide you through every stage. We end up realizing life through our own lived experiences. Sometimes those experiences are nice, sometimes they’re harsh. Here are 6 truths that life will teach you at different stages. Read on to be prepared for them.

2/7

No one’s coming to save you

Stuck in a toxic job? Instead of going to every colleague and nagging about it, find your own way out and don’t expect anyone will fix it unless you decide to leave or upskill yourself for something better.
The human brain functions in a way that every time it gets stuck with something, it starts looking for a hand. While sometimes it’s absolutely important to look for help, there will be a time that makes you realize that only you are capable of dragging yourself out of that situation — not a friend, not your therapist.

3/7

Comfort zone holds you back

Staying comfortable feels like leaving a peaceful life, just like ‘the one we dream of,’ but this peace is short-lived. You become so used to being in your own comfort zone that, after a point, it starts pulling you back from reaching your potential.
So, if you avoid public speaking because you are not comfortable, you’ll never build confidence or leadership qualities, and you’ll be witnessing others snatching away your opportunities.

4/7

Ignoring your triggers delays healing

If you see something strongly triggers you — anger, fear, jealousy, or deep hurt — it usually isn’t just about the present moment or the person who did the action. It’s often tied to unresolved emotional pain or trauma from your past that is not gone yet.Instead of reacting to others, try to look at yourself from the inside out and resolve your own problems first before giving it back to the people who triggered the emotion.

5/7

The quietest voice holds the most influence

People often ignore the ones who are quiet in a room full of noise because it is often seen that they are silent because they don’t have much to contribute to the discussion. The Dunning-Kruger effect explains that the less intelligent you are, the more you overestimate your cognitive abilities. It takes a level of maturity and emotional intelligence to be aware of one’s own strengths and weaknesses and contribute to a discussion when you have something extremely conversation-worthy to add.

6/7

It’s safer to be alone than with drainers

Eating alone, sitting in a hillside restaurant, is much more fulfilling than eating in a congested restaurant when people are not even bothered about your existence or they are just using your presence to rant about their life. Life gradually teaches you that solitude is healthier than toxic company.

7/7

You are replaceable

Sometimes success makes us a little arrogant or maybe we forget the people because of whom we got the taste of success. The truth is, nothing is permanent, and everybody in a professional setup is replaceable. If a certain job starts making you feel that nobody will ever replace you, be ready with the truth that someone better can come in the next second and your higher authority will not think twice before replacing you. Be humble to everyone as you never know whom you may need in which phase of your life.
