The one question you must ask yourself before going back to your ex-partner

Life after a break up

Everyone has their own way of dealing with a break-up. Some spend time on social media stalking their ex-partner, some start feeling lonely and don’t feel like stepping out of the bed, and some go down the memory lane and think about the good times.

2/10

The confusion is normal

Amidst all this, we all analyse what went wrong in the relationship and contemplate whether it is a good idea to get back to our ex-partner or not. But before you make-up your mind on this subject, here’s one question you must ask yourself.

3/10

The one question

Instead of looking for ways on how to get back into your ex-partner's life, ask yourself, “Why do I exactly want to get back in his or her life?”

4/10

Think, think and think!

Be honest to yourself and take your time to arrive at a conclusion. It is completely normal to feel lonely after a break-up and miss the comfort of that partnership.

5/10

The answer might be tricky

The answer to this question might be tricky. You could be fearing that you won’t find someone better or you will never be happy again. You might dread you won’t be able to love someone else the same way again or feel shattered seeing your dream world crumbling down.

6/10

Do you fear these?

You might fear what your friends and family would think and feel going back to your former partner would make everything normal again. Or, you both are still in love and making the relationship work would be the wisest thing to do. But before you act on any impulse, think about the situation and the real reason behind the break-up.

7/10

If you willing to give relationship another chance

If you are confident about stepping back into the relationship for all the right reasons, make sure you are on the same page emotionally with your partner. Your ex-partner should be equally willing to give the relationship another chance and put efforts to make it work.

8/10

If not...

If you think going back to the ex-partner would make matters worse, it’s time to stay extra strong for the coming months. You need to accept the reality and realise that you will go through good and bad days, when you will feel tempted to get back to him or her. Just keep in mind that this a temporary phase and life has many other amazing things in store for you.

9/10

Should you stay in touch?

Like everyone else, you might consider the idea of being friends with your ex-lover. Seems harmless, no? But until and unless you both have completely moved on in life, being friends might complicate the matters.

10/10

How to be sure about your decision?

You can be sure about your decision only when you start enjoying your own company. Fall in love with yourself and if you still feel that the person can add something more to your already existing happy world, then it is a wise decision to date him or her again.
