Wabi-Sabi: Appreciating imperfections in life

The Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi emphasises on admiring imperfections about things. Wabi-Sabi is deeply rooted in traditional Japanese philosophy, and it celebrates the idea of growth, transformation, and renewal. It teaches one to understand and accept that that nothing is perfect; things keep changing and evolving and so, one needs to accept them and have a positive outlook towards life.

Mono-no Aware: The awareness about life's impermanence

Literally translating to 'the pathos of things', Mono no aware is a Japanese idiom about being aware about the impermanence of life. Mono no aware also refers to the bittersweet realisation that everything is temporary in nature. It teaches one that nothing lasts forever in life, including our troubles or relationships, and so it should be cherished.

Kintsugi: Celebrate beauty even in imperfections

The term "Kintsugi" literally means to golden repair. It is a Japanese technique wherein instead of discarding damaged objects, artisans turning them into beautiful and unique works by filling the cracks with gold, silver, or platinum. The idea behind it is that there is beauty in everything, even in imperfections. When it comes to life and relationships, Kintsugi can have a deeper and symbolic meaning. It teaches one of resilience and transformation; one can also learn to accepting people as they, with all their flaws.

Yuimaru: Value one's family and friends

The Japanese concept of Yuimaru is about protecting and nurturing one's close relationships. It is also about the importance of valuing one's close circle. The idea is that when you care about others, it helps you connect with them and also heal better. And so, one should extent support in their interpersonal relationships.

Kansha highlights the importance of being thankful and practicing gratitude in life. One should always have an attitude of gratitude and count their blessings-- this helps them stay positive in life. And when it comes to relationships, expressing our gratitude to our loved ones nurtures these relationships.
