These are the worst marriage habits of all

These are the worst marriage habits of all

Marriage is no simple game. It’s complicated, tough, and requires a lot of compromises and considerations. Sometimes, certain habits make us a horrid person to our partner. In addition, we make it worse by doing nothing to rectify these behaviours, mostly because we simply don’t recognize them! So, to help you understand your mistakes more, we bring to your attention the worst marriage habits of all.

2/7

Complaining to your friends

Whatever happens in your marital life should be between you and your spouse. Fights, arguments, and discussions need to be held only with your partner. You shouldn’t go on complaining or venting about your marital struggles to your friends all the time, except for when the problem is unbearable. Don’t list your private life out in the open.

3/7

Checking your phone

If you and your partner are lying in bed together and checking your phone, without uttering a single word, you both need to stop. Even if social media posts seem more interesting, make it a point to leave your phone and the outside world when you’re with your spouse. Just cuddle when you both slip into your bed!

4/7

Saying all thoughts out loud

So this is a trick that works. Suppose you tell your husband to do the laundry and he replies in the affirmative, don’t reply by saying, “do it now or I know you won’t do it later.” This only derails the work and frustrates the other person even more. Unintentionally the remark may agitate the person by their laziness or procrastination.

5/7

Doing stuff alone

As much as having your own time seems inviting, it’s necessary to spend time and do things with your spouse as well. Don’t just watch shows, listen to music alone, but get your spouse to enjoy an evening with you. Doing things of interest together with your spouse sparks some togetherness of love and excitement.

6/7

Resenting intimacy

Has work or your children been holding you up from enjoying some intimate time with your spouse? If yes, then you need to focus on your intimate marital life as well. Even if you feel tired after an exhausting day, make it a point to at least have sex once or twice a week to keep the fire alive in the marriage. Remember, it doesn’t take long for a marriage to become mundane.

7/7

Forgetting to make each other laugh

Even if your partner’s joke is pretty lame, just laugh for the sake of it. Laughter can cheer up a person immediately. So make your significant other laugh heartily every chance you get. Don’t have a long, grumpy face in front of your spouse, all the time.
