Are you going through the same?

When we are in a balanced relationship, we are happy and sane and we bask in the beauty of being with our partner along with the other relationships that we have with friends and family. However, if you feel you are no longer who you were, you are no longer able to relate with this person you have become, then you are probably losing yourself in your relationship. For a better understanding, here are 6 major signs that will help you realise your life status. Are you losing yourself? Find out now!

3/7

You don’t have me-time

All of us must have some time for ourselves where we do things we love, which could be reading books, doing DIYs, playing games, walks etc. However, if you are with your partner all the time and you are no longer doing things you love and not prioritising me-time, then dear reader you are losing yourself. In a healthy relationship it is very important to get time to enjoy some me-time. If you are content with being on your own only then can you stay happy with your partner.

4/7

No social life

Have you stopped meeting your friends, not been taking their calls or making one? This is a major sign that you have forgotten your own life to be with your partner or are unable to strike a balance. If it is a new relationship, it is very common that you start laying more focus on your relationship and keep your friend time on the back burner. However, this all looks nice only at the beginning and when you really need your friends, you realise that you have lost them all due to your own negligence. Also, friends help keep you sane when things get overwhelming in a relationship and more than that, you too have a duty towards them. If you have lost your social life, it means you are losing yourself.

5/7

Prioritising your partner’s needs over yours

In many situations, your partner’s insecurities make you choose between your wants and your partner’s needs and you end up opting for your partner as you love them. However, if this is happening a lot, it means you are on the path to losing yourself.

6/7

Unable to take independent decisions

Has your partner’s approval been dominating your decision making process? Does your partner decide what you should or should not be wearing? If all these small decisions have become dependent on your partner and there is a whole lot of drama from their side, if you take independent decisions sometimes, it means you are losing yourself.

7/7

Losing your dreams

Are you no longer thinking and running towards your dreams and goals as you did before the relationship? Have you begun losing the drive to work? If yes then you are losing yourself and this is very unhealthy. Your individual dreams always set you apart and they give you a sense of purpose in life. You cannot afford to lose sight of them.
