If you claim you are a social drinker but by the time evening hits you see yourself emptying bottle after bottle then you need to stop and rethink. Using alcohol or drugs as a coping mechanism to avoid immediate problems is not a good sign. It leads you down the road of living in denial. You need to start facing your problems head-on

People often resort to people-pleasing when they have past experiences of neglect or social isolation. They deem this as the perfect method to fit in. In this, you look past the negatives of a person only to be in their good books. It’s bad for your mental health in the long run because sooner or later you will start being resentful of such people and hate yourself more when you are not able to do anything about it.

They boost one's sense of accomplishment, Games and other activities often have built-in reward systems that give players a sense of accomplishment. This increases players' sense of accomplishment. These accomplishments can provide a feeling of competence and therefore boost self-esteem. Online gaming can offer a sense of belonging to a community. For individuals who may struggle with social interactions in real life, these virtual spaces can be particularly appealing.
