Signs you still want your ex

Getting in a committed relationship takes time and effort, and so does getting over it. Why do we feel overwhelmed even after a year of the breakup? Sometimes it is just complicated. It is more complex moving on from that one person to whom you gave your all. We buy flowers, arrange dates and share our vulnerable sides with them, so it's far from easy to move on from our exes. Even if you get into another relationship, you can't deny that sometimes you think about them, even 15 hours a day, which isn't healthy for your current relationship at all. Here are few signs that you haven't moved on from your ex.

2/7

It happened a long time ago

Chances are high that it's been months, and you are still thinking about those three to four months spent together with them. Studies have claimed that it takes half of the duration of the relationship to recover from the breakup. However, it may depend on few other factors like closeness, completion of needs, and more.

3/7

You talk a lot about them

It is okay to talk about your ex once in a while after some time of the breakup. However, if you find reasons to talk about them constantly, you aren't really over them. Your friends, family, and even the neighbour, now are tired of listening to you talk about them.

4/7

New relationships, old you

Even when you are involved in a romantic relationship with someone at your convenience, you think about your ex mostly. If you have trouble committing to this new relationship because you constantly compare it with your ex, then you have to go a long way to move on.

5/7

You speed-dial them

If you had a bad day at work or just feeling sad, they are the first person you want to talk to, even after months of breakup. It is absolutely normal to share our thoughts and feelings in a relationship, but that doesn't mean you can do that after months of ending it.

6/7

That was your "perfect" relationship

According to you, that was the ideal relationship you have ever been in. You cannot bring yourself to find any negative aspect of the relationship. Nothing is perfect, but for you, that relationship was. Many people have suggested that if you find loopholes, you can move on easily.

7/7

Distracted mind

Even after a loaded calendar, you still think of your ex in any situation; you might need proper closure. After a breakup, it is very important to not have an empty mind; you need to work to keep yourself away from overthinking. It would help if you thought about the breakup and ways to improve but not to the point that it makes you numb.
