Indian singles explore new paths to love and commitment

Indian matchmaking app Rebounce, created for divorced, separated and widowed singles, has crossed 20,000 users within a little over a month of its launch. The app, introduced in September 2025, focuses on people looking for a fresh start after marriage breakdown or personal loss. Its early growth points to a change in how Indians are viewing love, remarriage and second chances.

Rebounce founder and CEO Ravi Mittal said, “Seeking love after divorce or considering remarriage after loss is slowly moving away from being a taboo to a conscious and hopeful next step. The early traction of our app clearly shows that Indians are no longer stuck in the failed marriage narrative. The new generation believes in continuing to live a full and happy life, and giving love a second chance is a huge part of it.”




User data from the app shows a strong move away from casual dating. Around 53% of men and 64.6% of women are actively looking for marriage. The average age of users is in the early 30s. Women are around 35 on average, while men are closer to 31, suggesting that remarriage is no longer seen only as a later-life choice.

Single parents also form an important group on the platform. About 55% of single fathers and 68% of single mothers are seeking marriage-focused relationships. The data also shows that users are less concerned about marital history and more focused on compatibility, shared values and future plans.

According to the app, many users see divorce or separation not as an end, but as a pause before beginning again. The early response reflects a growing comfort with restarting life with greater clarity and purpose.
