Common regrets people have in life

There are many things in life that come and go. Our decisions keep altering our path. They shape us, our lives. There are some people who believe in the YOLO concept but there are many of us who live with regrets. It is important that you do what you always wanted to do as long as it is legal and perish with a smile at the end of your birth cycle. Here are some common regrets people end up with, so perhaps this list will help you work on it.

2/7

Being better partners, parents, children

Many people, if you notice, regret not being a good son, daughter, wife, husband, child and it gnaws them inside out. You must remember that family is the closest to relationships that you have. No matter how close your friends are, once your family is in unity, no one can harm you. So prioritise those members, be how you want people to be with you.

3/7

The workaholism

People often forget that work, earning money is a part of life, not your entire life. It fetches you luxury to pay for the amazing materialistic things you would need, but if you do not have time to use that money, give comfort to the other or yourself, then what is the point?

4/7

Not travelling

It is important to see the world around you, travel, meet new people, have different cuisines, soak in the sun and wind of another place other than your own home. What is the point of living if you act like that frog in a pond? Most people end up regretting the fact that they have not been to xyz place. Do it! Do it now! And if you are on work from home, you really do not have a good excuse left.

5/7

Being too safe

Taking risks in life is part and parcel of growing up. If you have ideas, wishes but are too scared to take the risk, then remember “jo darr gaya, samjho margaya”. If you fail, you will learn from it. At least you will not have dreams about it which may end up biting you in the future!

6/7

Living those dreams

If you follow a rat race, you are just another rat. But if you step out and live the dream you wanted to, you will be at peace in the future. Open that cafe you wanted to. That shack in Goa you were thinking about. Make your own perfumes, paint your heart out. Go backpacking around the world (with a little planning), do it. Do the job you wanted to do instead of doing what is “expected” of you! It is your life!

7/7

Helping others

Often this regret bites. Many later feel that they know they could have helped ABC but did not. If you have that regret, take up the next opportunity you get. Life is too short to hold regret and grudges!.
