Love lessons I UNLEARNED after passing out of college

Here's what I had to forget about

As we age and see the world, our notion about many things change in life especially when it comes to love. When I was in college, I was an entirely different person until life happened. There were so many love lessons that I learned to unlearn after experiencing them during my college years. You too may agree with them! Here are 5 love lessons I managed to unlearn and I feel most of us do unless you are lucky enough to have a fairytale of a life.

2/6

Don't become a puppy

When I was in college, I was always a strong girl but when it came to the so-called love of my life, I would be that puppy who would always follow him around. I would do whatever he asked me to do. Not saying I regret it, but now I laugh at that girl… It was after I started working, when my life became real, I realised you should never be there so much that the other starts taking you for granted!

3/6

Not having your own identity

If you do not respect yourself and make your own identity, no one will respect you either.. The love you thought will always be there for you and respect you, will one fine day become a part of that gang that disrespects you. He was just controlling himself from giving you a piece of his mind up till now. Making someone the centre of your universe will hurt you.

4/6

Broadcasting insecurities

We all have insecurities but when we self deprecate and attract the guy to just our flaws, you forget that even if he had not noticed them, he will definitely do so now. More than that, when you talk about your insecurities, you are in a way making yourself believe that you are truly all of that. Plus your guy then sees you as a broken person with an inferiority complex and he will run away.

5/6

Believing love is enough

In college, I thought I could even run away with him and have my own little “Qayamat se Qayamat Tak”. But then after college, I realised, these movies are good for escapism, not inspiration! Love is important because that keeps us going as humans but to survive in this world, you need to do many other things! Love does not buy you food, it makes people smile all the time…

6/6

Having to choose between friends or lover

No one is worth it if you have to choose between being with your friends or the guy you are involved with. If you ignore your friends for your spouse and forget that your gang exists, you are ditching people who will always be there for you and you are also losing a part of your identity. Amid all this, you are losing everything!
