How to deal with an immature husband

Keep calm and follow these tips

He sucks out your happiness with his kiddish reactions, immature words and behaviour? Then you probably are married to an immature man. It is okay, there is a solution to everything. To be able to deal with an immature husband, here are 5 tips that will help you keep your sanity and save your marriage from becoming toxic.

2/6

Never take it personally

His immaturity will make him say many such things which are childish and, well, irresponsible. Don’t fall for them. He will blame you for things you have not done so do not react or take them personally. Anything that will ruffle his feathers will make him create some drama. So just take a step back and let him cope with them later. He will come around on his own.

3/6

Don’t react but do respond

Stay calm. Emotionally manipulate him in a good way. If you react, you will feed his unhealthy emotional behaviour. But do respond when he blames you for so many problems in front of an audience. Address it later, but do not react in front of all those people, it will not help you at all.

4/6

Focus on his positives

Okay, he is childish, but there have to be some good things about him too! Focus on those positives. Concentrate on what attracts him to you. Think of the good things he has done and watch out for what he does that deserves praise. He is frustrating but not evil.

5/6

Defend your boundaries

His immaturity is no pass for him to cross the line. Tell him later, sit down and explain where he crossed the line. Make him understand your red lines. Do not let it go because this can become a habit of his.

6/6

Practice what you preach

If you want a certain practice to be followed between you two, then do it yourself before asking him to do it. Set examples of the behaviour you expect. Make your point. Show him how he should deal with his emotions because clearly he was not tight on how he should behave while growing up. It is like dealing with a child. You are not his mom but you can be his teacher for a sane relationship at least.
