Here is how you can deal with a spouse you don't like

It could be a love marriage or an arranged one, people eventually change. We all grow with time, becoming another person. Sometimes those changes get nastier, and we start disliking certain behaviors or habits which we did not sign up for. This pushes us to dislike the person altogether but we know that divorce is not what we want. So how do we deal with this situation? Here are some tips that may help you in dealing with a spouse you don’t like anymore.

2/6

See the positive

Nobody is perfect, even some of your habits could be getting on his or her nerves. So the best way out is to first start noting the positive things they do. Spend one day noting only the positives he or she has. Do this for a week if you can and let go of the negatives for those 7 days.

3/6

Communicate

Is there something he or she has been doing and you are not liking it? So tell the person! Communicate! Who else will tell him or her if not you? Perhaps they do not even know that they are doing something wrong. Sit down with your spouse and explain what is bothering you.

4/6

Alone time

The two of you must spend some time together away from the world. Go on a trip, if nothing else, just for a walk, a lunch date perhaps? It relieves a lot of stress and clears up your mind as well. That time is very important when it is just the two of you.

5/6

No blame game

Blame games are nasty and unfair. Both of you have made mistakes because no one is flawless. So why get dirty? Complaining sometimes is fine but why not accept some rings you committed and vow to each other that you will work on it?

6/6

Couples therapy

If all else fails, go for therapy together. There could be small nuances both of you have not been able to address. Only a third party, which is non-judgemental, can note them. Therapy works the best here and it is worth it! After all, in the end, we all want peace.
