Tips for all newly married couples!

The happiness of bringing a baby into this world can’t amount to anything else. Being new parents can be incredibly exciting. But it can also be tenacious. Taking care of a baby takes a lot of work and it can be very stressful. From the time a newly married couple starts their marital journey, they are hit with questions like, “when will you light up our home with a baby?” or “when will you give us a grandchild?” etc. These couples face a lot of pressure in conceiving a baby even if they are not ready to be parents. For all the newly married couples out there, here are some ways in which you can cope with such pressure.

2/5

Divert the topic

When relatives ask you about having a baby, try to divert the topic. Talk about something else and try to make the other person engage in that conversation as well, rather than continuing with this ‘baby talk.’

3/5

Set boundaries

If you are uncomfortable with talking about babies and when you are planning for it, then don’t. Don’t force yourself to talk about it only because they are your elders. Try to set boundaries that you aren’t up for talking about this now.

4/5

Talk to your husband

If it is your husband’s side of the family who is pestering you with all sorts of questions about when you will have a baby, then it is time to have a talk with your husband. Make him understand why his family needs to stop asking you such questions. Since you are a newlywed it may take you time to get comfortable talking about such things to your husband’s side of the family.

5/5

Ignore it completely

If nothing seems to work out, ignore the people who are asking you about having a baby. Don’t be disrespectful while ignoring them but if you don’t feel like talking at all, simply say, “I will be back in some time” or “I don’t feel well. I am going to sit for some time.”
