Here's what they had to say

Cheating is very common in relationships, whether in a marriage, a live-in, or the dating period. However, every person reacts differently. Some can be very violent in response or even revengeful, but some people remain calm outwardly but cry their hearts out later. We spoke to a few men and asked for their reactions and confessions when they found their partner cheating and here is what they shared with us anonymously. Do you relate to them too? Do you think they did the right thing? Do share your thoughts in the comments section below.

I felt relieved!

We had been together in a relationship for the past 6 years; in these 6 years, the last 2 years were a drag for me. However, I kept going to maintain the peace and see if it was just a phase. In the last leg of those years, I caught her cheating. She was making out with another man on our TV room couch when I was supposed to be at work. The weirdest thing was, I did not feel any kind of anger. My first thought was “oh thank God”! I just could not keep up with the pretense and finally, she had given me a window to run.

My self-doubting grew

In our 8 years of marriage, when I saw my wife cheating on me with this extremely good-looking colleague of hers, it shattered me. I have always been on the heavier side of the scale and I secretly had many complexes. I always thought my wife could have done better and it was all self-doubt of course. After her cheating, she just said sorry and left and like she did not care about all those years we spent together. My self-doubting grew and I was a mess, close to self-destruction.

Seriously, this guy?

After a year of our relationship, one fine day, my partner walked up to me and said that she wants to leave, and break up because she had fallen for someone else. I felt angry for a few seconds but also admired that she was direct and did not outrightly cheat on me. But when I asked her who it was, I was shocked because I knew the man’s reputation. I told her that if she is leaving me, I would have expected her to be with someone better. I even explained what he does but she was blindly in love so I just wished her good luck and moped all alone later.

5/5

I just left

We had been dating for a few months and went to a house party together. I went downstairs to get a drink and she was on a couch hardcore making out with some guy. I didn’t even say anything, just left and never spoke to her again. There were a lot of other unrelated red flags in the relationship that I ignored. That just sealed the deal for me.

It makes sense to walk out of an unhealthy relationship then to suffer internally.
