First date went well? Here are some interesting topics to talk about on your second date

The art of conversing

A first date is all about knowing the basic information about a person and getting to know each other better. We talk about hobbies, occupation, friend circle, food, places we have visited, likes, dislikes etc., and the time flies! But the second date with the same person could be a little challenging. You have already asked all the ‘regular’ questions, and now you need other interesting topics to keep the conversation going. To help you get your dating game stronger, here are some questions that will help you to understand the person better and make the date a fun affair.

2/8

How is life treating you?

Asking this question will help you figure out your date’s attitude and perspective towards life. If they crib incessantly about their life and the challenges they face, it could be a sign that they have a pessimistic attitude. If you observe them talking about things that have been bothering them but with a smile and solution-oriented approach, they surely have a positive attitude.

3/8

What are your plans for this year?

Again, this question will make your date talk about their short and long-term goals, dreams and aspirations in life. You might find some common ones and both of you can hold a meaningful conversation about your plans for the year ahead. In fact, you can even discuss how you would like your life to unfold in the coming years.

4/8

Do you love what you do?

We all spend a major part of our day at office and what we do for a living defines our life. Hence, asking about what they like and dislike the most about their job will lead to a super-intriguing conversation. Then, you can continue the same conversation and talk about the industry they work in, spending habits, working hours etc.

5/8

The first date topics

They might have shared about their weekend trips, important meetings, their hobby classes, the book they are reading or a friend’s problem with you on the first date. Bring up those topics again, and your date would be happy to know that you remember what they shared with you the last time you met.

6/8

Tell me the funniest/craziest thing you ever did

Oh, this question will make the person brighten up and encourage him or her to share a funny incident. You both will laugh and eventually get to know each other better.

7/8

Share your favourite memory

This is another question that would lighten up the mood and reveal what makes them happy. Whether it is spending some quality time with friends, family, traveling, professional success or some other life goal—their favourite memory would help you understand the person better.

8/8

The master stroke!

Instead of asking a question, tell your date the things you liked about him or her. Stay honest and share the amazing things you have genuinely observed about the person. Remember, it should be genuine appreciation and not mere flattery. This master stroke might land you on your third date within a few days.
