Kid beating another in disturbing viral video

A disturbing video has surfaced on the internet, in which a toddler can be seen beating another kid in a merciless manner. The incident took place in a pre-school, where the classroom was unattended by a teacher. The clip emerged from the classroom’s CCTV footage and has sparked massive outrage online.

The video was shared by a Twitter account called Citizens Movement East Bengaluru. In a later post, the handle named Tenderfoot in Bengaluru's Chikkalasandra as the pre-school where the incident took place. "We received a disturbing video of a preschool where toddlers are left unattended in a closed room. A senior kid is seen hitting repeatedly a junior school. The school's name is Tenderfoot, Chikkalasandra, Bengaluru- 560061. Please don't send your kid there!" the handle said in its tweet.

What happened in the incident?

The disturbing video shows a group of toddlers inside a messy school room with toys and other playthings. Initially, a woman in a blue saree can be seen standing near the door with some kids around her. She takes one of the kids outside the room, leaving the rest unattended inside. It is then that a kid starts brutally hitting another. Most of the kids can be seen clinging to the window and the door, as if hoping to get out of that room.

People angered over school management

The viral video has garnered more than 200K views on Twitter and angered people online. “The state of unprofessionalism is disturbing. That child who is involved in bullying+ and his parents should be investigated. MFS that the kid should be sent in mental checkup and his parents under investigation. This modern parenting is unacceptable too,” wrote a Twitter user.

“All State Governments should make it Mandatory for 'creche' or play school to share live footage of CCTV's of the classroom & restroom areas to their parents to obtain licence to open such schools. This will deter them to leave child unattended & the supervisor have fear,” another user wrote.

The Bengaluru Police took note of the social media post. “Your complaint has been forwarded to the police inspector of Subramanyapura Police Station for necessary action,” the Bengaluru Police said on Twitter. Here are some important tips for parents to avoid raising a bully.

Teach your child to respect others

Parents play a very important role in shaping the conduct and behavior of their children. Teach your child to respect everyone, no matter what their age. Your child should be kind towards everyone, though not gullible to be fooled by strangers. Your child should be taught to not be mean – verbally or physically – towards anyone, even if they dislike them.

5/6

Talk with your kids about bullying

(Representative image)

It is important to directly address the issue of bullying with your child. It is important for your kid to understand that bullying is wrong, and they should neither bully anyone nor remain quietly at the receiving end. Prepare them for tough situations by telling them what all can happen and how to protect themselves.

Put an end to bullying behavior

If you find your child is a bully, take steps to put an end to this toxic behavior at once. Talk to the teachers to understand your child’s behavior at school. Ensure that you do not discipline them by hitting or shouting at them. However, it is also important to not dismiss your child’s behavior and make sure they realize their mistake and apologize for it.
