Royal parenting rules Meghan Markle can choose to ignore

Meghan Markle need not follow these parenting rules

On 14th February, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced the news of their pregnancy with utmost grace and precision. Considering the heartbreaking news about the pregnancy loss experienced by the Duchess of Sussex, the announcement induced a sense of positivity and hope amongst everyone.

Given that Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior members of the royal family early last year, the two are no longer expected to follow various guidelines set by the British Royal family. Even when it comes to raising their kids, they're not bound by the parenting rules that other royals have to follow. That said, here are some of the royal parenting protocols Meghan Markle can overlook.

There's no need for baptism

The relationship between the British Royalty and the Church of England goes far back to the 16th century. As of now Queen Elizabeth II is the head of the church and therefore, all members of the royal family must be baptized. While Archie has been baptized, as during that time Meghan and Harry were still a part of the royal household, they may not follow the same baptism rule for their second child.

'Shorts' are not the only option for Archie

As per the royal protocols, children have to follow strict dress codes. While young boys are expected to wear shorts in public, royal princesses must wear smock dresses for royal events and gatherings. But now that the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex have stepped down from their royal duties, they can take the liberty to dress their children without any restrictions.

Education can be flexible

Royal children are supposed to be sent to top-class private institutions for their education. But now that Meghan and Prince Harry are no more a part of the British Royal family, they can even choose to send their children to public schools.

There's no requirement for a nanny

It is compulsory for all royal kids to have a nanny by their side. Given the broad range of responsibilities the royal parents have, an extra help is always provided and is mandatory. However, when it comes to Meghan Markle, she can either choose to lend a helping hand or not.

Homemade baby foods can be experimented with

As per the royal guidelines, members of the royal family are prohibited from eating certain foods. For instance, garlic and shellfish are forbidden in the royal family. But now that royal couples do not have to adhere to such rules, they can also experiment with their baby food.

Teaching a foreign language is not mandatory for Meghan

Like all other members of the royal family, the royal children also have to learn a foreign language. While a new language can come in handy at any time, it is however optional for the Sussex royals to teach their children the same.

The Sussex royals can travel together

As per reports, none of children of British royalty, especially the heirs to the throne, can travel together. But now that Prince Harry has stepped down from his royal seat, he is no longer in line for the succession and therefore, the family can travel together.
