Tech magnate Elon Musk in the shoes of a father
Elon Musk is the founder, chairman, CEO and chief technology officer of SpaceX; angel investor, CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; owner and CTO of Twitter; founder of the Boring Company; a co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI; and the president of the Musk Foundation.
Along with being at the top of the tech world, he also manages the ups and downs of co-parenting with musician Grimes. Together they share 2 children – X Æ A-12, aged 3; and Exa Dark Sideræl Musk (nicknamed 'Y'), 19 months.
Co-parenting relationship with Grimes
Grimes and Elon were romantically entwined between 2018 to 2021. They continue to be close co-parents. Grimes described their relationship as "very fluid" in a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair. She shared that they still deeply influence each other's lives.
Musk's impact on Grimes' life
Grimes candidly credits Elon for her metamorphosis over the last five years. "He's challenged me a lot. I learned a lot about running my own team and my own life. I'm now way tougher and smarter than I used to be," she shared the positive impact he has had on her life.
Grimes adding fun to Musk's life
It is not just Musk impacting Grimes' life. It's a two-way street and she too has brought fun and joy to his life, encouraging him to let loose. "I try to soften him up, to build family culture," she shared. "And he steals a lot of my memes."
Kids share similar interests like dad
In a recent exclusive chat with Wired, Grimes shared that just like their father, the kids too have a fascination with the universe.
In the interview, she provided a heartfelt glimpse into the adventures of their celestial-obsessed offspring. "X knows a lot about rockets. It's crazy. He knows more about rockets than me," she shared.
Kids are little engineers already!
Grimes proudly added the the kids' fascination with the universe is not fleeting. The kids already exhibit talent in astronomical engineering.
"We had to stop giving him toys, because if they're not anatomically correct, he gets upset," Grimes said. "He's a little engineer, for sure. But his obsession with space is bordering on, 'Is this healthy?'"
Y, their young daughter, isn’t far behind her elder brother. "Yeah, she's a little engineer too."
