How the Queen express her love for her grandkids
Besides being the head of the British Royal family, Queen Elizabeth II is also a mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. The mother-of-four has successfully raised 4 kids of her own, but hasn't shied away from her duties as a grand-mummy. While her grandchildren are all grown up now and have become parents to their kids, the Queen still treats them with love and care.
Let us revisit some of the times when the Queen overstepped her role as a monarch and took up her responsibility as a grandmother.

The Queen with her first grandson, Peter Philips

The time when she let Zara Tindall sit on her lap
On another occasion, Queen Elizabeth II overlooked all royal protocols and allowed her granddaughter Zara Phillips Tindall to sit on her lap while watching water polo at Windsor in 1984.

When she ran behind Prince William to put him away from harm's way
Another instance that proves the Queen is a doting grandmother is when she runs after her grandchild Prince William to stop him from crashing into the carriage he was running after, to bring him to safety.

All about outings and vacations
The Queen has also outdone herself by organizing events and grand outings just for her grandkids. As per British royal tradition, the Queen makes sure everyone in the family has a splendid Christmas together and what better place than the Sandringham estate to host it. Additionally, during a 1988 visit to the Sandringham museum, the Queen took along her grandkids too including Prince William, Prince Harry, and Peter and Zara Phillips.

Sharing a 'moment' with her grandsons
It is evident the Queen and her grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry share an extraordinary point. But what we cannot miss in this moment where the Queen made both the Princes to burst out with smiles, at an event that demand discipline and order (at the Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst Military Academy in 2006). They sure did share a special moment there.

She cares as much for her great grandkids too
While her grandkids mean the world to her, she does not step aways from caring for her great grandkids too. The 95-year-old monarch has eleven great-grandchildren, the youngest being Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's newborn baby girl, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter Lilibet and Zara Tindall's boy Lucas.
According to Royal expert Kerene Barefield , who in conversation with Us Weekly said, “The queen is in her element when she’s got her great-grandchildren sitting on her lap and having that family time." “I’m sure it’s something that we’ll never ever get to witness — that kind of really relaxed family time, which is what everyone else has at Christmas," she adds.
