Remedies for breast milk supply

Many new mothers worry that they aren't making enough breast milk, but your milk production should be plenty if your baby is healthy and developing as it should. The best diet for you and your child to nurse is one that is nutritious, well-balanced, and diverse. Galactogogues are foods that are commonly thought to increase the production of breastmilk; it can't hurt to try them in moderation. But before using any herbal therapies to boost breastfeeding production, acquire your doctor's approval. Let's look at some home remedies to increase breast milk:

Fenugreek water (Methi)

The most popular herb for producing more breast milk is fenugreek, which is also the main component of many lactation beverages. Additionally, fenugreek is offered as a supplement or pill form. This herb, which is native to Asia and the Mediterranean, can be soaked overnight in a glass of water. One may strain the water and drink it first thing in the morning to increase breast milk production.

3/6

Fennel Tea (saunf)

Another traditional cure for raising milk production is the use of fennel seeds. They are also given to expectant mothers in an effort to assist shield their child from colic and gas. The reasoning behind this is that as adults utilize fennel seeds to help with digestion and soothe upset stomachs, a newborn can receive the health benefits of fennel through breastmilk. Although there is no evidence to support either of these theories, many mothers believe that fennel seeds have benefited them or their child. Traditional post-delivery confinement drinks are fennel tea (saunf ki chai) and fennel water (saunf ka pani).

4/6

Sesame seed laddu (til)

One non-dairy source of calcium is sesame seeds. An essential mineral for mothers who are nursing is calcium. Both your personal health and the development of your child depend on it. Maybe that's why breastfeeding mothers have long included it in their meals. Try making til ke ladoos and adding black sesame seeds, dates, dry scraped coconut and seeds of your choice.

5/6

Drumstick juice

Renowned as a galactagogue, drumstick has the ability to stimulate the production of milk. They are edible when made into curries or soups. Juice the fresh drumsticks, then consume a half-glass of this mixture each day for a month. To enhance breast milk production, drink this twice a day for a month.

6/6
