1/6

Home decor for the summer

Prep your home according to the Summer season and make your home less suffocating. Get it in sync with temperature by adding and subtracting thick curtains, loud decor pieces etc. Take inspiration from some movies and try these home decor tips this summer

2/6

Origami and decals on the walls

Make your apartment look peppy and lively by taking inspiration from Wake Up Sid, a movie which had great content, good cast and the decor was warm and welcoming. We are not suggesting you get a studio apartment but what you can try is painting one wall a different peppy colour, use some cool decals as per the space that you have. Practice or invest in some origami and you can stick or frame those on the wall too. Add a bookshelf and get some memories printed on a polaroid frame if possible. It would be an instant uplift indeed.

3/6

Glass walls & hanging lights

Invest in hanging lights and nice glass walls. You can mix and match antique or contemporary designs like those in Dear Zindagi. Give your walls a raw and rustic feel with toned down paints. Invest in handmade furniture with a roughness and shop for decals.

4/6

Sheer curtains

This summer, it is time that you got sheer curtains for your windows To block the light you can also get opaque curtains which can be used when you want a dark room. Invest in nude or pastel shades like Salaam Namaste and try to place fresh flowers in your home every other day for good vibes.

5/6

Wall decor pieces

You can buy cane bookshelves or wooden ones like those in Ki & Ka. You could also make a wall clock your main piece of decor in the house. Buy colorful cushions and glass artifacts but do not overcrowd your home, let it breathe.

6/6

Straw curtains & minimalism

Make your home all white with a few splashes of colour via your cushions or photographs like the decor in The Devil Wears Prada. You can introduce straw curtains and handmade durries or rugs like those in Eat Pray Love.
