Lose belly fat fast with these four changes

Losing weight is not easy, and only those who have attempted this know how true it is. There is no single mantra that can work for everyone. From digestion to metabolism and utilization of food, all processes work differently for different people and everyone has different problem areas. While some of us may gain weight faster on our limbs, many of us have a heavier torso region and some of us find it hard to lose belly fat. Even though heavier bellies are the most commonly seen weight gain problem, it is not very tough to shed extra fat from around belly region.

Making small but significant changes goes a long way and in order to lose weight, be it from any part of the body it is important to embrace certain changes be it in terms of diet or physical activity. You can simply reduce weight by omitting certain foods from your diet, adding small periods of exercise. Here are four lifestyle changes that can help you lose belly fat.

​Intermittent fasting

Intermittent fasting refers to eating only within a specified time window and is way different from other forms of fasting. If done properly, it can help reduce weight because fewer calories are consumed in intermittent fasting and the body responds to the stress of fasting by enhancing hormone function to facilitate weight loss and burn fat for energy.

Carbohydrates

Carbs are responsible for a lot of that stubborn fat that refuses to go away, no matter how hard you try. Consuming processed carbohydrates such as white bread, chips, pasta etc. are harmful for you . In order to lose weight, especially from the belly, it is important to limit the consumption of carbs and replace processed carbs with slow releasing energy sources such as quinoa or brown rice.

High intensity interval training is a form of interval training in which periods of cardiovascular exercise are alternated with short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. Exercise not only helps lose weight by consuming fewer calories but also prevents regaining weight, thereby helping one to stay in shape.

Eating less sugar

Most of us may not be knowing this, but a large number of packaged foods and drinks that we consume are full of sugar and calories. ‘Diet’ oriented foods and drinks are also replete with added sugar and can contribute largely to weight gain. It is important to cut down on such food items and replace them with better, healthier options that actually contain less sugar and fewer calories.
