How to lose weight in winters

We all get a little lazy as soon as the temperature drops. It is one thing that most people would agree with. Winter decreases our level of physical activity and makes us eat more often which poses a challenge for those trying to stay fit or shed kilos. If this situation fits you perfectly, we have got a little secret for you.

You can lose weight in winter even by being a little lazy. All you need to do is act a little wise. Winter can work wonders on your body without any of your efforts, only if you know how to bend it in your favour. Here are 5 lazy tricks for those trying to lose weight. Try them this winter.

2/6

Shiver a little

By shivering we do not mean to go out early in the morning on a walk without warm clothes. Just when the weather is bearable, maybe in the afternoon or the evening when the sun has not set, go outside. As per studies, shivering even for 10 to 15 minutes burns about as many calories as an hour's worth of moderate exercise. Not only this it makes your muscles contractions.

3/6

Eat healthy and on schedule

It has been proven that winter makes us eat more. The cold temperature increases our daily calorie requirements to keep the body warmer. The trick to breaking the chain is eating on time and filling your plate with healthy and fiber-rich foods. Fiber keeps your stomach fuller for a longer time, preventing the craving for unhealthy foods. When you eat one time you will eat in a limited quantity.

4/6

Avoid warm water

Most people prefer to drink warm water in the cold season, but if you want to maintain your weight, we would recommend you to go for cold water. Studies suggest that consuming fluid colder than the body's core temperature makes the body work harder to warm it up. This process helps burn a lot of calories required to shed kilos. If you cannot drink cold water, at least try to have normal water.

5/6

Drink herbal tea and black coffee

Instead of your regular coffee and tea loaded with sugar and milk have herbal tea and black coffee. Oolong tea, hibiscus tea, black tea or black coffee are rich in antioxidants and also have anti-inflammatory properties. Drinking them regularly can speed up your metabolism and help you burn fat faster.

6/6

Involve in more household chores

If you do not want to go outside for exercise, involve yourself in physical activity indoors. You will be surprised to know that even doing household chores like cleaning, washing, mopping, gardening and others can help you burn a considerable amount of calories. Even while working from home, get up from your seat after every 30 minutes and walk a little around your house.
