Days when you should not start dieting

Beginning a diet to lose weight or improving your health condition can be quite overwhelming. It may be easy to decide to start eating healthy, but where to start is what most people find challenging. It is generally believed that there is no right or wrong day to begin the fitness journey. Whenever you feel mentally prepared to give your best just jump into it. But turns out science does not completely support it. According to science, starting your healthy eating journey on specific days decreases the chances of your success and you are more likely to call it a quit. Here are some days when you should not begin dieting.

2/4

Before an important event or project at work

Stress and dieting do not go hand in hand. When we are stressed we crave unhealthy carbs and often tend to eat more. Naturally, if a big event is due at work or you have to finish a major work whose deadline is approaching try not to overburden yourself by starting anything new. The chances of giving up the diet are high at this time. Finish your work and when things come back to normal and your days are more relaxed plan your dieting schedule.

3/4

On weekends

If you are planning to start eating healthy on Saturdays and Sundays, think again as it might not be a very good idea. That's because we have plenty of free time on weekends and sticking to a diet plan when you are sitting ideal can be difficult. Besides, most of us hang out with our friends and family on weekends and it can be hard to resist the temptation to have our favourite food. Weekdays, especially Mondays are the best to begin anything new.

4/4

After vacations

Many people eat to their heart’s content on vacation and then swear to hit the treadmill when they get home. But experts believe that dieting after vacation can be worse and is a perfect recipe for failure. According to a 2002 study, planning to go on a diet in the future may have a psychological impact and you may eat more than usual on your vacation. Most people think that they will go on a diet once they will reach home, so they just binge eat on holidays. In the end, their condition deteriorates and they have to start from the worst place than before.
