Losing weight isn't hard! 7 things that I avoid to stay in shape

Avoid these things

My entire life I have experimented with various diets and fitness plans just to realise that fitness isn't about going overboard. A lifestyle which has too many complexities is the one that you will eventually give up. A simple lifestyle with simple foods and workout is what gives the best results.

We live in a time where we are regularly bombarded with new information to stay fit and achieve your weight loss goals, but falling in that trap will lead you nowhere. Here are 7 things that I AVOID to stay in shape.

2/8

Do not replace food with supplements

I have seen so many people obsessing over supplements but what they don't know is that no supplement will help you speed up your results. Take only those supplements that your doctor wants you to take for any serious nutritional deficiency. Otherwise your good food choices will have you covered.

3/8

Avoid carbs after 6 pm

I am not against carbs. It is essential for our body but try to limit your carb intake during the day. Your body has to work harder to digest carbs so time it smartly so you can eat everything without putting the added pressure on your body.

4/8

Do not eat too late!

The best route to good weight is timing your meals and making a routine. Eating late makes you feel sluggish the next day because your body didn't get the time to burn it while you were asleep. Late night eating also messes with your sleep which makes it hard to lose weight. So eat before 2-3 hours of your bedtime.

5/8

Skipping meals

Intermittent fasting is great but you can do it without torturing yourself to stay hungry. Like I felt extremely sluggish when I had to push myself to fast for 16 hours. I was hangry, irritable and lethargic. So it's good to space out your meals well but do not torture yourself into skipping meals.

6/8

Sitting all day!

Sitting is as harmful as smoking. So bad for you if you don't smoke and believe you have made a conscious decision. Sitting is an equally dangerous evil. So make the effort to stand up, walk. Do not keep sitting on the couch. Many of us have a job that requires us to sit in front of the laptop. So stand up every hour and walk a bit. Talk on the phone while talking. If you can keep the camera off, take your online meetings while walking or standing. These little things will keep you active all day and help you burn calories without exercising.

7/8

Eating out or ordering

Everytime our social media pages throw up images of good looking food and reels, you crave for good outside food. But it's truly not worth it - not for your wallet and not for your health. They use bad oils, poor ingredients, just to make the food taste great but it's far from great for your body!

8/8

Not hydrating yourself

Our body is 60-70% water and to make your body function optimally, you have to drink enough water. Water not only helps your body function but it also reduces your appetite and helps you burn more calories. So drink up three bottles everyday or 7-8 glasses of water.
