Summers can lea to as much weight gain as winters

Summer is here and while most of us might blame winter for the excessive weight gain because of binge eating, not wanting to get out of bed all day or lazing around, summer is equally capable of doing the same. Wanting to stay in the air conditioned environment can make it hard for any of us to step out or sweat it out, for there is too much of it already! Extremely high temperatures call for copious amounts of drinking, and that can be any beverage. Sugary drinks like cold drinks, beer or alcohol of any sort for that matter, can lead to too much weight gain without even realizing. It is thus important for one to keep track of what one is consuming during this time of the year, especially in order to keep oneself hydrated.

Here we bring to you a combination of two unbeatable things, namely two drinks that will help you lose weight and carry on in these tough times.

2/4

Coconut water

Coconut water, popularly known as ‘naariyal paani’ in the Indian sub-continent is one of the most loved and widely consumed drinks. It is rich in fiber, protein, potassium, vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and amino acids. In addition to being fat-free and extremely nutritious, it is also a great hydrating agent and can help with weight loss. It is extremely easy to digest and is also beneficial for improving digestion because of the enzymes that are present in it. It ultimately helps improve the metabolic rate and increase the fat burning efficiency of the body. Low on calories and replete with beneficial and digestive enzymes, coconut water should be your go-to summer drink for weight loss and hydration.

3/4

Lemon water or lemonade

Rich in Vitamin-C, citric acid, anti-oxidants and flavonoids, lemonade or lemon water is another refreshing drink that can help you beat the heat. It facilitates digestion and helps eliminate toxins from the system. Instead of having the classic, regular lemonade it is advisable to add a few drops of lemon to warm water and drink it in order to eliminate belly fat. You can also add a hint of salt to the drink for taste or a tablespoon of honey; according to whatever suits you. Lemon water helps cut fat from the body and is an excellent drink to start your day with. It provides ample energy for the body to function, especially if honey is added.

4/4

Keep in mind

It is important for one to keep in mind that adding excessive amounts of sugar or salt can lead to negation of all efforts because salt and sugar add to weight and other health consequences. Ensure that you monitor the amount of these things added. Consuming three to four glasses of the drinks is considered to be good for health and weight loss.
