Chef Ree Drummond shares how she lost nearly 60 pounds with lunges and squats

Chef Ree Drummond recently shared an instagram post talking about her weight loss journey

Celebrity chef and cook show host Lee Drummond recently shared that she lost 5 pounds in 2021. She admitted that she feel stronger than ever and all of it happened after her weight gain began to pester her for she had been doing nothing concrete to change anything. After she finally decided to do something about it, Drummond decided to bring about changes in her routine and lifestyle that included diet, work out regime and small but significant habits.

In a recent post shared on Instagram, Drummond talked her followers through her journey of weight loss and fitness and explicitly mentioned that it all came down to how she felt and not how much she weighed. Without keto, paleo, intermittent fasting or any other official diet, she managed to lose weight through the small everyday changes that count. Here are some of the most significant factors that helped her lose weight.

Strength training

She did not only lifted weights in order to strengthen muscle and build further, but she also took walks around her ranch. Drummond couldn’t help emphasize on the importance of building muscle by doing exercises like squats and lunges that helped larger muscles in the body. She said that these exercises laid a solid foundation for better weight loss.

Movement

Even though she did not stick to an official workout regime in the latter half of the year because of work, she decided to keep herself moving. She resorted to small breaks in the middle of work and instead of sitting while working, she stood up and worked on her standing desk. It not only helped her weight but also helped her feel well.

Lean protein

Prioritizing how she feels over how much she weighs, Drummond decided to cut out low-carb diets like Keto and preferred eating more lean protein which helped her keep full and good for longer periods of time. In addition to this, it also helped build muscles and enhance overall health.

Portions

Even though she loaded on protein, she made sure that she did not eat too much like she used to. Measuring her portions and moderation were the two key steps that she took towards fitness. Large portions of foods, be it healthy or unhealthy, was her secret mantra that helped her break bad eating habits.

A better lifestyle

The small changes that she included in her daily life have helped her come a long way in life. At 53, she has admitted that she felt better and more in balance. Cutting out alcohol, lifting weights, walking more often and tracking her diet are some of the small changes that helped her lose weight.
