Here are small 7 dinner hacks for weight loss

Let's admit it. It is comparatively easier in the morning to control your cravings and eat healthier but as the day comes close to an end, we are more drawn towards comfort food and sweet delicacies. We are exhausted and stressed out and indulging in our favourite treat seems like the perfect way to end the day. Most people either overeat or indulge in unhealthy food during dinner time, which hinders their weight loss plan. To stay on track all you need do is follow some simple dinner hacks.

2/8

Use a small dinner plate

To lose weight effectively and in a set period of time, it is important to eat a limited number of calories. Big plate means more food and more calorie intake. So, to avoid overeating, always choose a small size plate and fill it with healthy and nutritious foods.

3/8

Careful with the oil

A common mistake that many people make while cooking is ignoring the calorie content of the cooking oil. If you will generously pour oil in your frying pan then it will be harmful to your weight loss plan. Even if you are using healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil or ghee, the amount of fat in your food should be minimum.

4/8

Eat snacks late in the evening

Another reason for overeating at night is the time gap between dinner and lunch. The long break makes you ravenous and you cannot control yourself from overeating. To overcome this issue, have your snacks late in the evening. This will keep your fuller till dinner time.

5/8

Drink water before dinner

We often underestimate the importance of drinking water. The fluid not only keeps us hydrated but also creates a sensation of fullness and helps us to eat less. It makes it easy for our brain to recognize fullness and we stop eating. So, sip on one tall glass of water 30 minutes before your mealtime.

6/8

If possible, have some potatoes in dinner

Studies suggest that potatoes have the highest level of satiety compared to any other carbs. It can make you feel three times as full as a slice of white bread. There are misconceptions that potatoes are fattening. On a contrary, they are rich in fibre and are good quality carbs. You just need to consume it in moderation.

7/8

Eat at the dinner table

Distractions at mealtime can make you lose track of your hunger and you will overeat. That's why it is suggested not to eat in front of the television. Practising mindful eating can help manage your calorie intake and shed kilos faster.

8/8

Have your dinner early

Sleeping immediately after having your dinner can be another factor that may halt your weight loss progress. It is best to have our dinner 2 hours before going to bed and if your motto is to shed kilos then have your meal by 7 pm.
