How oil consumption leads to obesity
Obesity is a complex health condition characterized by excessive body fat accumulation, increasing the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and certain cancers. It is caused by an imbalance between calorie intake and expenditure, often influenced by sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy diets, genetic factors, and hormonal imbalances. Poor dietary choices, including high consumption of processed foods, sugary beverages, and fast food, contribute significantly to weight gain.
Excessive oil consumption is a major contributor to obesity, as oils are calorie-dense, with one tablespoon containing around 120 calories. Consuming large amounts of refined oils, especially those high in trans fats and omega-6 fatty acids, promotes fat accumulation and inflammation, leading to weight gain. Fried and processed foods further increase calorie intake without providing essential nutrients. Over time, excessive oil consumption disrupts metabolism, increases bad cholesterol (LDL), and contributes to insulin resistance, raising obesity risk.
Obesity affects both physical and mental health, leading to joint pain, breathing difficulties, low self-esteem, and depression.
Preventing and managing obesity requires a combination of balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and lifestyle modifications.
