Omicron leads to mild symptoms, which at times are not even related to the respiratory system. Months of research on the Omicron variant has revealed some uncommon signs of the infection caused by this variant, which can help to detect the signs in the early stage.

The study stated that there has been a considerable rise in the case of gastrointestinal symptoms among people infected with coronavirus between mid-December 2021 through January 2022. It was the time when the Omicron variant led infection was at its peak. Stomach related issues were also reported during the Alpha and Delta waves of coronavirus, but it was not that common. In the Omicron, people who do not even show signs of a respiratory issue, develop stomach issues. The reason gastrointestinal symptoms are being considered as a primary sign of omicron variant.

But based on the data collected by the app, some experts even say that it could be due to stomach buds caused by some other virus. Experts in the field of medical science have different views on this matter and a lot more research is needed in this area before coming to any conclusion.
