Common types of cancers affecting women

Cancer is a serious health issue that can impact individuals of all genders. However, women are often at a higher risk of certain types of cancer, including breast, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancers. These cancers can have a significant impact on a woman’s physical and emotional health, as well as her quality of life.

Dr. Monica Gulati, Executive Dean, LPU says, “Cancer affects millions of people worldwide and can occur in different parts of the body. Women are especially susceptible to certain types of cancers including breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, and colorectal cancer."

2/7

Lung cancer:

Similarly, increase in smoking among women has increased the incidence of lung cancer. From the same cigarette exposure, it seems that female smokers have a higher risk of developing lung cancer than male smokers do. Among non-smokers, women are more likely to acquire lung cancer.

3/7

Breast Cancer:

Breast cancer is one the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women affecting 1 in 8 women in their lifetime. A woman's risk of developing breast cancer is increased if she is not physically active. obesity or being overweight after menopause. Compared to older women who are at a healthy weight, those who are overweight or obese have an increased risk of developing breast cancer.

4/7

Colorectal cancer:

Colorectal cancer may have a significant impact on a woman’s life, with early detection, regular check-ups, proper treatment, and a healthy lifestyle, women can reduce their risk of developing these diseases and improve their chances of successful treatment. It is of paramount importance for women to be proactive about their health, educate themselves about the risk factors and warning signs, and take action to detect and treat these cancers as early as possible. By staying informed and taking necessary steps, women can increase their chances of leading a healthy and fulfilling life.

5/7

Cervical Cancer:

Dr. Kamini Rao, Padma Shree Awardee and Chief Mentor, Milann Fertility Center says, “Cervical cancer is the most common type of cancer among women. It occurs in the cells of the cervix, the entrance to the uterus from the vagina. Each year, more than half a million women, mostly aged between 35 and 444 are diagnosed with cervical cancer worldwide, and the disease results in over 300000 deaths.”
“Most people will get HPV at some point in their lives but this usually goes undetected because their bodies fight the infection. However, if your body doesn't fight the infection, it can cause the cells of your cervix to change to cancerous cells. Receiving regular gynecological exams, HPV vaccine, getting Pap tests, and practicing safe sex are the most important steps that you can take toward the prevention of cervical cancer,” adds Dr. Rao

6/7

Ovarian Cancer:

Dr. Kanury Rao, Co-Founder, PredOmix says, “It is also surprising that ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cause of cancer deaths among women and is often referred to as a “silent killer” because its symptoms are often vague and non-specific.”

7/7

The takeaway:

The exact cause of cancer is not fully understood, but these cancers can develop as a result of various factors, including genetics, lifestyle, and exposure to environmental pollutants. It is important for women to be aware of the symptoms of these cancers and to undergo regular screenings to detect any early signs of disease. Early detection can help detect cancer in its earliest stages when it is most treatable and can significantly improve the chances of recovery.

breastCancer has become so common today that we are seeing a lady in every 2nd family having it even early in their 20s and 30s.While a lot of doctors , media , news , NGOs, corporates and hospitals are running awareness campaigns to teach women to detect it early or how to cope with it , ever wondered why aren’t they reaching how to prevent it at 1st place ?!!To all dear Women , plz research more on each every consumable that is carcinogenic and our body is exposed to every day . Most doctors won’t even tell you about them due to COI of the pharma industry. The number #1 culprit is progesterone hormones for breast cancer and is already declared class 1 carcinogen by WHO .The dairy milk and dairy products are amongst the top reasons for breast cancer as they are amongst the carrier of highest progesterone and Estrogen that comes from the pregnant yet lactating cows (yes cows are impregnated every year to keep them milking ).Next is the cosmetic products , creams shampoos and soaps that u use everyday . Study their ingredients and side affects . Their prolonged use trigger hormone imbalance when absorbed through skin mainly triggering estrogen and proegestrone in body .Next is synthetic and micronised progesterone meds that doctors prescribe to you during pregnancy or during menopause. Stop and don’t take them . They are not Necessary for well-being . All kinds of meats are already established by WHO to be carcinogenic so I will leave that for intelligent minds to figure out . Hint : female animal also produce progesterone and at much higher levels than humans are enter our body through their dead bodies . Apart spiked stress hormones also remain in the flesh of butchered animals which lead to various kinds of cancers in human .Love and health to all women
