When metabolism and appetite are not taken care of, it can lead to digestive issues and thus unwanted weight gain. A healthy weight relies on healthy eating habits, sleeping patterns and a healthy lifestyle.

It is often said that a slow metabolism can hinder your weight loss journey. If you feel this is your problem too, here are five simple drinks that can help you boost your metabolism.

​Fennel tea

Fennel seeds, commonly called saunf, is great for digestion and increasing metabolism. This is the reason why it is often served as a mouth freshener because it does not just give your mouth the required minty flavour but also aids digestion.

Fennel seeds are loaded with nutrients. Fennel tea can help you get rid of bloating, constipation, help you in losing weight and improve your metabolism.

To make fennel tea, boil two cups of water and pour it into a pan, add 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds, bring it to boil, add some lemon juice and honey to enhance the taste.

​Lemon detox water

Lemon is densely rich in vitamin C. It has citric acid and antioxidants, which can help in removing the toxins from the body and increase our metabolism. By adding honey and cinnamon to lemon detox water, it can improve gut health too.

To make lemon water detox, take two cups of water, squeeze one lemon, add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix well and have it.

​Ajwain detox water

Ajwain or carom seeds work great for digestion. These have been used for ages for their medicinal benefits. Ajwain helps in regulating appetite, improves digestion and helps with weight loss.

To make ajwain detox water, take two cups of water, soak in one teaspoon of ajwain overnight. Boil the mixture, strain and have it warm. You can also add lemon to enhance the taste.

​Ginger lemon drink

Apart from weight loss, the ginger lemon drink is great for the problems of the gastrointestinal tract. It helps in fighting bloating and cramps. The vitamin C and pectin in lemon makes it a good detox drink along with improving the gut.

To make the ginger lemon drink, take one glass of water in a mixer, add some ice, 1-inch ginger and mint leaves. Blend nicely, add one tablespoon of lemon juice and honey to enhance the taste.

​Cumin cinnamon drink

Cinnamon is a powerhouse of antioxidants and at the same time helps in losing weight. Its anti-inflammatory properties help in fighting diabetes. Cumin, on the other hand, is good for digestion and enhances the immune system.

To make the drink, take a big saucepan, add cumin seeds and cinnamon to it along with a glass of water. Let it boil for five minutes. Strain the drink and have it warm. You can add some salt, lemon and honey too.

It’s often easy to gain weight and it sometimes happens without us even noticing. Our lives are stressful enough and being overweight can bring many health challenges that only add to that stress.
