These 5 philosophies will change your life!

These 5 philosophies will change your life!

Ever wondered why life sounds so complicated? This is because often, as human beings we tend to make a big deal out of things, and lose out on the small joys of life. For example, it's a beautiful sunny day outside, and even if you are at home, you can't enjoy it for even five minutes because of household chores. Or you let one bad day at work spoil your entire week. To err is human, and this happens to all of us, but there are some ways you can change your life for the better. Here is how to start...

2/6

Be kind

Such a simple, yet such a profound thought. All you have to do is to just be kind to people - to that hardworking fruit seller who is standing under the scorching sun, to that new mom at work trying to balance both worlds, or to that hungry street dog who comes to your home looking for some food. Philosophy says that kindness creates a ripple effect in the universe, and just like karma, often comes back to you. And the best part? Being kind does not cost anything!

3/6

Appreciate the small joys

You do not have to go 'looking' for that one elusive happy day/week, when everything will be perfect. Learn to appreciate the smaller joys of life as well. For example, opening your office dabba and finding your favorite meal, a cold shower after a hot day, or just a stroll in the park with your loved one. Appreciating the small joys of life will make us a much more compassionate person.

4/6

Never stop learning

Whether it is at work, or in your personal life, never stop learning. Life is unpredictable to start with, so you never know what it throws at you, and where your skills come handy. Right from upskilling your current skill set, to picking up a new hobby, don't get too comfortable or complacent with what you are doing in life. Keep growing, and keep learning.

5/6

Protect your space

Do not let anyone ruin your mental peace. We know this is easier said than done, but try this for starters - try and detach yourself from anything that stresses you out - whether it is a person or an opportunity. Do not wait around for any thought to mess up your head, rather come up with a solution for it beforehand. For these, tools such as meditation, yoga, and pranayama will help you.

6/6

Learn to let go

Whether it is a small tiff at work, or some issue at home - learn to let go. This does not mean (at all), that you need to put up with people who are toxic for your mental health, it just means that you will not fret over the small things in life, since they are not worth it. Instead, focus all your energies in working hard towards your goal, and ignore the rocks that roll you way. Choose your battles wisely.
